Armed security guards are sent by the police to Sanusi and Bayero’s palaces in the Emirship Tussle.
Hunters and vigilantes who were stationed outside the main palace have been driven away by the Kano State Police Command,
which has deployed highly armed protection to the Emirate palace of the reinstated Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II.
Additionally, more armed security guards were sent by the Kano Command of the Police to the Nassarawa Emir Aminu Ado Bayero Palace.
Nonetheless, AIG Usaini Gumel, the outgoing Commissioner of Police, revealed this to media on Monday in Kano, stating that the Nigeria Police’s first priority is safeguarding people and property.
Emir Aminu Bayero’s home at Nasarawa Mimi Palace and Emir Malam Muhammadu Sanusi’s home in Kofar Kudu Palace both have armed guards stationed there, according to Gumel.
He claims that the deployment’s goals are to avert security risks and preserve calm until the legal battle over the emirship is being resolved.
Gumel continued, “In response to a recent upsurge in thug infighting that threatened the peace of the state, the
command has reinforced its personnel deployment plans to ensure adequate security and peaceful coexistence of the people.”
He then made a plea to the populace to assist the police in carrying out their mandate and urged locals to offer any
information that could contribute to the preservation of the old city’s political stability, advancement, and peace.
According to him, all citizens will be able to carry out their lawful activities without fear of their lives or property being threatened because the police command is dedicated to providing the necessary security.
