“Struggles for Nigerians, luxury jets for Tinubu” PRP destroys the presidency

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has denounced the Presidency’s choice to buy President Bola Ahmed Tinubu new, fancy jets, calling it irresponsible,

callous, and a glaring example of the government’s disconnection from reality.

Recall that prior reports from people close to the presidency claimed the new aircraft would improve the President’s security and comfort on official travels.

Many Nigerians, on the other hand, continue to be outraged by the purchase because they see it as a needless investment and an indication of the government’s lack of citizen engagement.

Muhammed Ishaq, the party’s acting national publicity secretary, signed a statement that the PRP released on

Monday criticizing the administration for putting the President’s pleasure ahead of the welfare of Nigerians, who are facing poverty and economic hardship.

Given the nation’s current economic circumstances, the party questioned the purchase’s justification and charged that the government was disconnected from the reality that everyday people had to deal with.

The PRP also questioned why the government is not taking note of other nations’ experiences, such as China and the US,

which have been using their presidential jets for 24 and 34 years, respectively, and pointed out that the Presidential jet that was purchased in 2003 is only 19 years old.

The PRP insisted that the government reevaluate this unnecessary spending and concentrate on providing the Nigerian people with real benefits.

The party went on to urge all well-meaning Nigerians to stand with them in denouncing this careless spending binge and pressing their leaders to improve government.

According to PRP, the government’s choice to buy new aircraft for the Presidential fleet is evidence of their disconnection from reality, lack of compassion, and disregard for responsibility.

“They are putting luxury spending ahead of the welfare of the people, even in the face of the nation’s dire economic problems and its citizens’ extreme financial hardships.

“The government’s extravagant spending binges are unacceptable given the state of the economy, the approaching 40% inflation rate, and the lack of a salary review for employees.

“They ought to concentrate on resolving the urgent problems of unemployment, poverty, and economic stagnation.

Other nations, like as the US and China, have demonstrated that survival with less resources is feasible.

While the US has had a Presidential plane made by Boeing since 1990 and used by six US presidents in a row for 34 years, China bought its Presidential jet from Boeing in 2000 and has been flying it for 24 years.

“We want the administration to keep in mind that the Nigerian people are the ones they are serving, not themselves. They ought to put the needs of the country first and exercise fiscal responsibility in light of the depletion of resources.

“We demand that the government reconsider this unnecessary expenditure and instead concentrate on providing the Nigerian people with real benefits.”
