Latest: VeryDarkMan was invited, not arrested

ABUJA: The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has made it clear that Martins Vincent Otse, better known online as VeryDarkMan, was invited for interrogation rather than being placed under arrest.

The FCT Police Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, issued a statement stating that VeryDarkMan was asked to appear for questioning about claims of cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and character slander.

In response to accusations of cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and character slander, VeryDarkMan was only asked to appear for questioning, according to Adeh. “The FCT Police Command wishes to clarify that,” Adeh said.

Since then, VeryDarkMan has been freed when he freely gave his response to the accusations.

The police statement sought to rectify earlier, widely circulated reports on social media about VeryDarkMan’s detention.
