Oluremi Tinubu expresses sympathy to Plateau on the school tragedy
Oluremi Tinubu, the first lady, has conveyed her sorrow over the unfortunate event in Plateau State where a school building fell, killing and injuring several people.
The tragic incident happened on Friday at Saint Academy in Jos, the capital of Plateau State, leaving several schoolchildren dead and others buried beneath the debris.
Mrs. Tinubu expressed her condolences to Caleb Muftwang, the governor of Plateau State, the lost families, and the people of
Plateau State as a whole in a statement released on Saturday by her spokesperson, Busola Kukoyi.
“It is truly tragic to learn of the Jos school building collapse, which took the lives of our defenceless kids and their teachers,” the statement said.
“My deepest sympathies are extended to the families of the deceased, the people of Plateau State as a whole, and His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Muftwang, the governor of Plateau State.“
The First Lady prayed that God would give the victims’ families consolation and the fortitude to deal with the heartbreaking loss.
“It is depressing to lose these children with a bright future,” it continued. Though I can’t find the right words to comfort you, I pray that God would give you all the strength to endure this heartbreaking loss.
