The Borno Labour Party criticizes Tinubu for “bad governance” and supports Ndume.
At the weekend, members of the Obidient Harmonization Committee (OHC) and Engineer Isiaku Yakubu, the Acting Chairman of the Labour Party (LP) for
Borno State, paid a show of solidarity by visiting the Maiduguri home of Senate Chief Whip Mohammed Ali Ndume, who was recently removed from office.
After Ndume made an indictment against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying that the current administration is marked by hunger and insecurity,
the Team unanimously denounced his dismissal from the Red Chamber.
The LP Chairman, who was accompanied by other party officials and allied supporters, added that people had visited Ndume’s home to offer his condolences on the passing of his sister-in-law.
It is regrettable that President Tinubu and his party, the All Progressives Congress, or APC, are ruling the country with dictatorship and intolerance against any constructive criticism, stated Engineer Yakubu during his message of support on behalf of the Party.
The Chairman offered the Senator two letters: one expressing sympathy and the other an invitation to become a member of the Labour Party.
The Chairman begged the Senator to accept their invitation as he read the letters, stating that the Labour Party needs Ndume’s vast expertise as a politician to help advance the nation.
In response, Senator Ndume expressed gratitude to the Chairman and Labour Party members for their condolences and for being able to relate to him despite their political differences.
He urged them to keep speaking out and holding the government responsible, stressing the value of opposition in a democracy.
Senator Ndume disclosed that he has received three invitations from various opposition groups, including the People’s Democratic Party (PDP),
Social Democratic Party (SDP), and now the Labour Party, regarding their offer to join the party.
Ndume thanked everyone for the honor, but he made it clear that he is one of the APC’s founders and that he was called to join by two very important men,
former President Buhari and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“You cannot simply vacate a property you constructed on request from a renter without providing a compelling explanation.
I want to be clear that I consult with the people who make up my constituency before making decisions, and that I will always take the position that my people choose. Ndume elaborated.
Remember that Senator Ndume, a representative for Borno South, had claimed in an interview with Arise TV that Tinubu had been caged and fenced off by
certain forces and expressed concerns about the lack of meaningful action by Tinubu in addressing poverty, insecurity, hunger, and other pressing issues last Thursday.
He also accused Tinubu of running a solo government despite widespread hunger in the country.
The APC then requested that Ndume leave the party and join the Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, or any other opposition party, in a letter that was read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Consequently, Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno (Borno North) has assumed Ndume’s roles as Chief Whip and Vice Chairman Appropriations.

rule of law, and has a vision for the country,” the LP Chairman stated shortly after the lengthy meeting at Ndume’s Maiduguri residence.
“I would like to notify you that Senator Ndume and our Party (LP) are in agreement. Our party affiliation is the only thing separating us, other than that, we are nearly same.
“All of us at the LP are grateful to Senator Tinubu for his bravery in supporting the Nigerian people during these trying times economically.
We wholeheartedly support Ndume, and we welcome him to join our group.
