Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships 2025: Applications Open!

What Does the Scholarship Offer?

Recipients of the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship receive:

• A stipend of €10,000 for one academic year of full-time study.
• A full tuition fee waiver is provided by the host higher education institution.

Scholars will begin their studies in September or October 2025.

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for this prestigious scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Residency: Must originate from outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland, and the UK.
2. Program Admission:
   • Apply for admission to a relevant master’s, postgraduate diploma, or PhD program at an eligible Irish institution.
   • Hold a conditional or final offer of admission at the time of scholarship application submission.
3. Previous Awardees: Individuals who have received the GOI-IES scholarship in the past are not eligible.
4. Exclusion for Nationals: Due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, citizens of Russia and Belarus are not eligible.

How Are Applications Assessed?

Applications will be evaluated based on the following:

• A strong academic track record showcasing excellence.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Active participation in extracurriculars, including humanitarian initiatives, politics, arts, or sports.
• A compelling study rationale that demonstrates how the scholarship aligns with the applicant’s long-term ambitions.

• Applying well in advance to avoid last-minute technical difficulties.
• Note: Changes cannot be made to applications after submission.
