Legal Foundation Race Equity Grants 2025: Apply Now for Multiyear Funding
The Legal Foundation of Washington (LFW) is now accepting applications for its 2025 Race Equity Grants, a funding initiative designed to support racial justice within civil legal aid. This program provides long-term financial assistance to organizations striving to dismantle structural racism, empower marginalized communities, and enhance equitable access to justice.
About the Race Equity Grant Fund
LFW’s Race Equity Grants operate through a community-driven model, prioritizing the voices and leadership of those most affected by systemic oppression. The initiative seeks to:
- Strengthen communities disproportionately impacted by structural racism and systemic barriers.
- Encourage client- and community-centered approaches in civil legal aid.
- Promote racial justice by expanding access to civil legal resources for communities of color.
- Support anti-racist leadership and organizations committed to transformative change.
- Ensure inclusive decision-making that empowers those with lived experience.
Grant Details
A total of 20 grants will be awarded, each providing $50,000 over two years to selected recipients.
Who Can Apply?
LFW welcomes applications from:
- Civil legal aid providers and organizations working in partnership with them.
- Nonprofits, Tribal entities, and fiscally sponsored programs engaged in racial justice work.
- Past Race Equity Grant recipients, provided they have submitted their final reports or their current grants will conclude by June 30, 2025.
