These specialized programs are jointly delivered at IPSS in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and Leipzig, Germany. They provide an exceptional learning experience by merging theory and practice. Program Costs and Scholarship Opportunities
- Tuition Fees: €3,600 annually for the MA program and €5,000 per year for the PhD program.
- Scholarships: Funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), two scholarship streams are available:
- Germany Scholarships: Provides partial funding for two MA students and one PhD student during their term in Leipzig.
- Sur-Place Scholarships: Supports students while studying in Addis Ababa, significantly reducing tuition costs for one term.
These scholarships make the programs more accessible, helping students manage their academic and living expenses.
Eligibility Criteria
MA Program Applicants:
- A Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, political science, history, international relations, law, humanities, or economics.
- Strong academic performance (good or very good results).
- Demonstrated interest in global studies, peace, and security issues.
PhD Program Applicants:
- A Master’s degree in social sciences, political science, history, international relations, law, humanities, or economics.
- Outstanding academic achievements (very good results).
- Passion for research in peace, security, and global affairs.
