About the Program

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program is part of the broader AfOx Graduate Scholars Program, offering African students access to a full scholarship for a one-year taught Master’s degree at the University of Oxford. Scholars will gain advanced technical expertise, entrepreneurial skills, and leadership training, preparing them to address Africa’s critical challenges.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Food systems
  • Health sciences
  • Sustainable water and energy solutions
  • Governance and public policy
  • Entrepreneurship

The curriculum aligns with Africa’s Agenda 2063 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, organized around four AfOx themes: Healthy People, Integrated Societies, Green Futures, and Innovation for Prosperity.
