Call for Applications: African Gender Equality Research Group (Deadline: February 28, 2025)
The Institute of Global Value Inquiry (IGVI) is seeking dedicated scholars specializing in African feminist philosophies to become part of its African Gender Equality Research Group. This initiative brings together researchers from across the continent to critically examine African values, philosophies, and cultural norms in the broader context of global discussions on gender equality, women’s rights, and empowerment.
Selected scholars will conduct groundbreaking research on feminist thought, decolonial perspectives, Indigenous knowledge systems, and gender justice. The group aims to analyze and challenge sociocultural, political, and economic barriers to equality while fostering knowledge exchange within Africa and globally.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be based in Africa and affiliated with an African university.
- A PhD or equivalent doctorate in philosophy, gender studies, or a related field within the humanities is required.
- Specialization in feminist theories, decolonial thought, epistemologies, methodologies, or gender equality research is essential.

- A curriculum vitae (CV) (maximum six pages).
- A list of academic publications.
- Three to five research documents demonstrating expertise in values and norms (up to five article-length works or two book-length works).
- A summary of expertise in gender equality (no longer than six pages).
- A two-page research proposal focusing on one or more thematic areas relevant to the group’s objectives.
