Stream One Corps Members in Lagos Batch B Receive Gifts of N100,000 Each From Sanwo-Olu
At the concluding ceremony of the Batch ‘B’, Stream One orientation course, Sanwo-Olu made the vow while at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp in the lyana Ipaja neighborhood of Lagos.
“Amount N100,000 for every Youth Corper graduating today (to be deposited directly into their accounts next week),” said Jubril Gawat, his Senior Special Assistant for New Media, on his X handle on Tuesday.
Along with the “amount of N5b for the construction of a new permanent site for the Lagos NYSC Camp,” he claimed that the governor also contributed “automatic employment into the Lagos Public Service for the best 100 corpers after the service year (for this batch)”.
According to his assistant, Sanwo-Olu also gave the NYSC a “32-seater Hyundai Bus (delivered already today)” during the visit.
Additionally, N100 million was given to the NYSC and support personnel by Governor Sanwo-Olu. He warned the corps members to live up to the values of self-control, tenacity, and cooperation that they had learned throughout the three-week orientation program.
“Over the last three weeks, you have been fully engaged in a life-changing experience,” he stated. You now know how to adjust to unfamiliar surroundings,
make connections with fellow citizens from all backgrounds, and welcome the difficulties that come with sharing a home.
This experience has given you a strong sense of oneness that cuts over racial, cultural, and geographic divides, in addition to preparing you for the challenges that lie ahead.
“You must acknowledge the importance of this program in promoting national unity as you say adieu to this orientation camp and move on to your numerous primary duties.
This orientation camp has served as a little version of Lagos State, a mash-up of many cultures, languages, and customs, and you have personally witnessed the power that comes from variety.
I have no doubt that everyone of you will keep this in mind while you work to advance Lagos State and all of Nigeria.
“Make a Good Influence”
They were urged by Governor Sanwo-Olu to get involved in community service, confront issues, and carry out worthwhile projects.
Additionally, he exhorted them to demonstrate self-control, tenacity, and cooperation wherever they go.
As you depart from this camp, keep in mind that opportunities abound and that you have been given fresh insights, new abilities, and the will to make a difference.
The governor remarked, “The experiences you’ve had over the past three weeks have equipped you to seize the chances and challenges that lie ahead.
