Discipline for the offensive Enzo Fernández video has been confirmed by Chelsea.
Chelsea has announced that they will be implementing disciplinary measures in response to a video that midfielder Enzo Fernández posted after the Copa América championship.
Fernández shared video of Argentina’s players celebrating their triumph over Colombia, in which players from France were purportedly called racial epithets.
Following the highlight of the previous weekend, Wesley Fofana called out his clubmate for the video, which was captured on the team coach of the Albiceleste.
Since then, Fernández has issued a public apology for the video and stated that it does not accurately represent his personality or worldview.
A statement from the club stated, “Chelsea Football Club finds all forms of discriminatory behaviour completely unacceptable.”

“We value and accept our player’s public apologies, and we will take this as a teaching moment.
“There will be an internal disciplinary procedure initiated by the club.”
The French Football Federation previously said that they would be bringing a legal complaint with FIFA against their Argentine counterpart for the players’ “racist and discriminatory remarks.”
The French football association released a statement saying, “The FFF president has decided to contact its Argentinian counterpart and Fifa
directly to file a legal complaint for racist and discriminatory remarks, given the seriousness of these shocking remarks, which are contrary to the values of sport and human rights.”
