French Embassy in Ghana Scholarship for Masters Students (2025-2026)

It is now open! The much anticipated Global Fellows in Courage (GFiC) Accelerator Program 2025 portal has been opened. This year, the program is sponsored by the Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Studies (CHRHS). This blog post has been designed to provide information on what this scholarship is all about and how to apply for this scholarship program.

About This Scholarship

The Global Fellows in Courage (GFiC) Accelerator Program 2025 is a program that has a duration of six months. The program is designed for people between the ages of 25 – 35 years who have lent their voice to human rights and gender justice advocacy.

With this scholarship, the aim is to help these individuals promote their effectiveness and drive bold social change in society.

As stated earlier, the Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Studies (CHRHS) is the main partner of this program. The function of the CHRHS is to develop a curriculum focused on leadership, human rights, and organizational development.

What is more, with the help of CHRHS, faculties from Brown University participate in this program.

Through encouraging student exchanges and cooperative learning, this program aims to improve Ghana-France academic relations. For exceptional Ghanaian students who want to take up Master’s degrees in particular subjects, it provides fully funded scholarships.

The applicant’s financial situation is taken into consideration during the selection process in addition to their academic performance. A two-year Master’s program in France is known as an M1 or M2.

Full financial support for both years will be provided to students who get approved into the first year (M1). Funding will be provided for the one academic year for those starting directly into the second year (M2).

In order to help mold their futures, scholarship recipients might also profit from career counseling and guidance.

Benefits Of The Scholarship Program

• Beneficiaries get access to the online curriculum and meetings that happen monthly.

• Fellows get access to several global communities of human rights leaders. They also become automatic alumni of Brown University’s Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Studies and GFiC.

• Financial benefits of up to $2,500 monthly await GFiC fellows upon conclusion of the program.

• Successful candidates are eligible for up to $10,000 GFiC grants to support their projects.

• Fellows would receive a certificate from GFiC and Brown University’s Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Studies upon completion of their program.

Who Are Eligible?

Those who are eligible must be those who:

• Have lent their voice to an extent to human rights and gender justice advocacy.

• Possess a strong command of English Language.

• Must be between the ages of 25 – 35 years.

Documents Needed

• A photocopy of your birth certificate.

The application must be downloaded and typed out.

• Scholarship application form for France 2023–2024 (Word – 555.3 kb).

• Students should write a one-page cover letter outlining their motivation and how the course they want to take will help them advance their careers.

• A letter of recommendation from your academic file at the university: Copies of complete degrees and transcripts

• Evidence of enrollment or pre-registration for a Master’s or PhD program at a French university. Please include your research topic and a letter of acceptance from your PhD supervisor in France if you are applying for a PhD.

• A well detailed Curriculum Vitae document outlining the applicant’s financial circumstances (student or parent bank statements, pay stubs, or a certificate of scholarship for ongoing studies).

Selection Process

The French Embassy and the Scholarship Secretariat will work together to conduct the selection process, which consists of the following steps:

• Eligible applications will be reviewed in March 2023.

• Selected candidates will be screened in April 2023.

• Selected candidates will be interviewed in April 2023.

• The list of successful candidates will be published in early May 2023.

NOTE: Applicants should be aware that the French Embassy, the GSS, and the Campus France Office in Ghana are the only places to obtain information about the Ghana France joint Scholarships program; no other person, organization, or third party has been hired to help any applicants.
