Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at ASU 2025 – Fully Funded

Applications are now open for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Arizona State University (ASU) 2025. This prestigious program provides young African leaders with the knowledge and skills needed to drive innovation and sustainable development across the continent.
Through a partnership between the Mastercard Foundation and Arizona State University, a total of 160 fully funded graduate scholarships will be awarded from 2025 to 2030. Scholars will complete ASU degrees online, with in-person academic support and professional development services provided by Kepler College in Rwanda. This hybrid model offers flexibility, mentorship, and hands-on community engagement to help scholars succeed.
Available Graduate Programs for Fall 2025
For the 2025 intake, 40 scholars will be selected for the following online graduate degree programs at ASU:
College of Global Futures
- MS Global Technology and Development
W. P. Carey School of Business
- MS Business Analytics
Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College
- MEd Learning Design and Technologies
Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering
- MS Information Technology
- MSE Sustainable Engineering
Scholarship Benefits
Selected scholars will receive:
- Full tuition coverage for the two-year graduate program
- On-campus accommodation during program visits
- Personalized academic and career support
- One-on-one mentorship and leadership development
- A two-month summer intensive at ASU in the United States between the first and second year of the program
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be an African citizen with a commitment to ethical leadership and community service
- Hold a bachelor’s degree by July 2025
- Be between 18 and 33 years old
- Demonstrate strong academic performance and leadership experience
- Meet ASU’s academic and English proficiency requirements
- Have not started or completed a graduate degree before August 2025
- Be willing to reside in Kigali, Rwanda for the duration of the program
