By providing financial aid and hands-on consulting support, the program aims to empower local businesses and drive long-term, inclusive economic growth.
Program Overview
McKinsey & Company, a leading global management consulting firm, has joined forces with Allies for Community Business (A4CB)—a nonprofit dedicated to equipping entrepreneurs with the capital, mentorship, and network they need to succeed. Together, they will offer grants and strategic guidance to help high-potential businesses overcome obstacles and scale effectively.
What You’ll Receive
Selected organizations will benefit from:
- $10,000 Grant: Four promising businesses will each receive a non-dilutive grant to help fuel their growth.
- Expert Guidance from McKinsey: Grantees will participate in a six-month support program (May–November 2025), gaining access to McKinsey’s consulting expertise, including bi-monthly check-ins with McKinsey professionals to discuss strategy, solve challenges, and refine their vision.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be business owners or founders from economically disadvantaged communities
- Operate an organization that demonstrates strong potential for community impact in Chicago
Selection Criteria
Applications will be assessed based on the strength of their responses, including:
- Application Completeness – Ensure all required details are provided.
- Demonstrated Impact Potential – A compelling personal story, a clear vision for the organization’s future, and a well-defined opportunity where McKinsey’s support can make a difference (such as key focus areas or resource needs).
