The comedienne, who revealed her tale in honor of World Suicide Prevention Day, admitted to attempting suicide in June 2018 after all other options failed.
“I tried suicide so you don’t have to; specifically, on June 6, 2018, at 3 p.m., I attempted suicide, giving up on life because the load was too much. “Life just hits me left, right, and center, and it turns me around like a barber chair.” And I felt like the only way out was to end the misery,” she said in a video clip posted to her Instagram page.
According to her, the intervention of a family member who visited at the right moment saved her.
She stated that, while life might be difficult, it comes in seasons and phases, and urged her fan not to consider suicide when all hope seems lost. “Suicide is the permanent solution to a transitory problem. Most importantly, cling on to God and do what is within your power,” the comedian advised.
Speaking about her comedy carrier, Anita Asuoha admitted in 2019 that depression led her into comedy.
“I discovered my comic talent while depressed. In school, I used to dance professionally, host events, and perform stand-up comedy. However, I did not take it seriously. Last year, I became depressed. I had no money, and many things went wrong. I just said to myself, “Why not start making videos to motivate and inspire people in a humorous way?” “And here I am today.”
