Seven Ondo APC candidates for governor make amends with Aiyedatiwa

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is the candidate whom seven of the sixteen candidates for governorship who ran in the Ondo State All Progressives Congress primary election have stated they support to win the

November election.

Morayo Lebi, Prof. Dayo Faduyile, Dr. Soji Ehinlanwo, Prince Diran Iyantan, Funmilayo Waheed-Adekojo, Mayowa Akinfolarin, and Mr. Jimi Odimayo are the candidates.

The candidates demanded a sincere interest in the party’s advancement in a statement released by the organization on Thursday.

Five of the candidates who participated in the primary filed applications with the appeal committee because they were unhappy with the results of the election, as reported.

Additionally, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, one of the candidates, went to the Federal High Court in Abuja to contest the results of the primary and ask the court to hold another election.

Although some of the seven candidates expressed qualms about the practice, they all agreed that the party’s position was paramount in a statement released on Thursday.

“We who were candidates in the recently concluded governorship primary wish to call all members of our party who genuinely care about the party’s success in the upcoming election in November to embrace

peace for a decisive victory in the polls,” the statement stated.

The stance of the party is that Lucky Aiyedatiwa, His Excellency, is our choice for governor. All of us should adhere to this attitude without exception, despite the doubts that some of us have voiced. We

realize that striving for perfection is a moving goal.

since party leaders who have made major contributions to the party’s remarkable success, we must tolerate anything that would cause our party to become more polarized, since this could potentially

undermine party unity.

“As a result, we urge all parties involved, including our supporters, to set aside their own interests and give the party’s overriding priority.”

The APC leaders urged other candidates to put in a lot of effort, saying that their first priority was for their party to win the upcoming governorship election in November.

“Winning the forthcoming November governorship race is crucial for our party. Therefore, in order to secure an extraordinary triumph, we are calling on all party members, male and female, to unite behind

our party’s nominee, His Excellency Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

We thus make a call to other grieving candidates and members of our great party to set aside their differences for the benefit of the party as a whole. They declared, “We need everyone to join us in our

communal march toward victory.
